Olympic Fever

Women's 10,000 meters

Shalene Flannigan, asking the US press if she placed 4th.

She won the Bronze! First US women since Lynn Jennings in 92 to medal in that event. The best part was watching her parents in the stands. They're both runners, her Mom is a former world record holder in the marathon and a T&F photographer.

DITA. After Kastor dropped out with a foot problem and poor Paula Radcliffe was in obvious pain, she was the only one who ran like she wanted to win a gold medal. A 38 year old mother- she was the 2nd oldest athlete in the race. She kicked ass.

There's winning, and then there's kicking everyone's ass. Usain Bolt PULLED UP towards with about 15 to go and started celebrating- coasting in at 9.69. Insanity. He's 21 years old- I can't wait to see what this guy will do in a race when he's gunning for the record. Not to mention he's so fun to watch. While everyone else is focusing he's dancing before getting into the blocks. At the finish he started posing and showboating for the crowd. I LOVE THAT!

LOVE HER! For me, her attitude out of the pool makes her more endearing. She is friendly with her competition and geniune with her responses to the media. Too bad we can't bottle that and sell it to the NFL.

I know it's been done to death- but damn. Michael Phelps. What can you say? I know I didn't sleep more than 5 hours a night the past week because I was up watching him win!

I'll be watching the men's 10k and womens' 100m today. I planned on running today, but my shoulder and neck feel like ground beef after my massage last night. She was talking about her divorce and taking out her frustrations on me!
