I'm on ROIDS!

I was doing some leg work today, and as I was stepping up and down on a plyometric box, I felt an intense pain in my neck and shoulder. When I woke this morning, it was sore again, but not like this. I could feel my trap start twitching and my arm burn. I ran into the pro shop and got some ice and tried to make the spasms stop. Then the pain radiated across my scalenes (neck) my pec attachment on my sternum, and at the attachment of my lateral delt. I almost vomited from pain.

I had enough of the b.s. and went to the Dr. I went to the chiro Sunday and Wed, but it wasn't helping at all. I also tell him about the past 6 months of numbness, swelling and tingling in my hands, my headaches, my diziness, etc. He tells me he's pretty certain I have a disc out of whack pinching the nerve and I need an MRI.

Since we haven't met our deductible, we'll be shelling out about $2,000. Damn.

As he's poking around my neck and traps, he says "I can feel your traps in spasm. You said your pain was only a 7! (from 1-10)" What can I say, I'm a masochist!

So I'm shuttled out with 3 prescriptions and one referral.

1. Hydrocone for pain. Can't take those until night time, I'll crash my car or hurt somebody at work.

2. Flexiril muscle relaxer. Only at night because of similar reasons as 1, but much worse.

3. Prednisone for inflammation. I'm on ROIDS!

4.Advil for inflammation/pain.

I'm pretty bummed out, but at this point I would rub horse shit all over my body and lay in the sun if the pain would go away. Hopefully I'll feel better by Monday. :(
