Burn baby burn.

Today's WOD is 10X10 pull ups and 10 ring dips. RING DIPS. Tricep dips on the rings- all day long. Real dips? Ugh.

Lovely lady demonstating ring dips (not me) via google images:

My legs are F-R-I-E-D after Thursday's workout. My quads feel like they'll tear open and I'll actually see blood on my thighs.

We've had so much rain here in ATL I'm thinking about kayaking to work. Normally walking in the rain doesn't bother me, but I decided to do 1 mile racewalk on treadmill, the WOD and another mile at the end. Every chatty McChatterson was in the gym today. Obviously the ipod isn't a big enough hint I'm not in the mood to talk; they would walk right up to me and start yapping.

"Can you do pull-ups?"

"are you training for a show?"

"How can I change the channel on the TV?"

"Why isn't the AC on?"

I love your hair, back to pink?"

"Is that hard?"

"How fast are you walking?"

After a while, I just turned the iPod off and let them talk. I did a mile in 12 minutes, and after answering questions, doing gym stuff for members I managed 7 sets instead of 10 and no second mile because I had to go the grocery store and pick up Xavier from school. It's all good, my quads are mad at me right now and my arms aren't really pleased either.

Truth be told, I could get in about 2-3 ring dips and then finished the rest with my toes on a stool. The pull-ups were all on the assist machine with 30-40 pounds help (minus a few unassisted at the begining of each set). Baby steps. Progression.

I made cupcakes today using a box of Duncan Hines. In my haste I grabbed a butter recipe instead of vanilla- it called for 3 eggs and 1/2cup of butter. Damn it all. I had 1/2 cup of Earth Balance and eliminated the eggs and added tofu. They aren't dry but they're crumbly. They taste good but....I'm not happy. I should have made chocolate chip cookies instead!
