Mommy sandwich!
I think I've come to terms with my training schedule. Boot camp really kicks my ass 3 days a week, and I incorporate alot of crossfit in my classes. On Tues/Th/Sat I've been doing either total body 5X5 or crossfit workout.
This week I did 2 5x5- tuesday was bench 5x5 @95 bent over row 5x5 @ 120 Barbell squat 5X5 135 and Stiff leg dumbell dead lifts 5X5 @ 40's. 2X10 ham/glute raises and ham/glute sit ups. I STILL feel that bitch of a workout. Today: All 5x5: Incline DB press @ 30's Renegade rows @ 20's Leg press @ 300 (?) Bulgarian squats @ 20's in each hand. Nothing destroys your ham/glute tie in (spot where your leg meets your booty) like bulgarians. Here's info on 5x5 Muscle Power
I've been following kick ass VEGAN Mike Mahler's workouts lately and all I can say is DAY-UM! As I adjust to the training intensity I'll be adding in cardio on t/th.
Next week is spring break- AKA Mommy is in hell. We can't afford to go to the beach- not to mention this is my old man's busiest time of year- which means I'll be schlepping the kids all over town. Tomorrow we kick it off with chocolate chip cookies, pizza Friday, a trip to Blockbuster and video game marathon. Saturday the oldest WANTS a haircut, which is amazing. That's always followed by ice cream. There's a Bruesters CONVIENTLY located right next door to the kids' haircut place. A-holes.
I am totally obsessed with lentils.
A little earth balance, garlic salt and mixed veggies- I'm happy. They're so good for you too !
Lentils are legumes (beans) that have been cultivated for thousands of years. The actual size of a lentil is about 1/4 inch. They are mentioned in the Bible in 2 Samuel 17:28, 23:11 and in Ezekiel 4:9 where they are one of the ingredients of Ezekiel's bread. Nutritional information: a 1/4 cup (dry) serving of lentils (32 grams) has no fat, 19 grams of complex carbohydrate - 10 grams of which is digestible (40 calories) and 9 grams in the form of dietary fiber - and 8 grams of protein (32 calories). A serving of lentils also provides 15% of our daily requirement of iron. They are the Indian comfort food; equivalent to USA's mac and cheese or mashed potatoes.
I also ventured into the mysterious and couragous world of tempeh. I made BBQ tempeh and it sucked BIG TIME. It's another "really good for you" food that tastes like complete ass chunks unless you cook it 'right'.
I've been jonesing for some Sookie and I'm DYING to know who's in the car (from the last scene of the last episode of season one.) Let's hope it's not Lafeyette.
