Jumping to conclusions

It's amazing how I can twist ANYTHING in my favor.
DH calls to talk, telling me how the other guys don't even call home.
I immediately jump his $hit.

The reason they don't call is because they fear bad news- not because they don't care. They prefer to live in the 'ignorance is bliss' mindset. I still say it sucks- but he wasn't trying to turn himself into a hero- he was just as flabbergasted as I was.

He's home, he's safe and has no desire to leave us again for that length of time. (He made it home at 6:45 pm) I'm so relieved he's back. I made his new favorite (veggie fajitas) and I'm hitting the sack early.

Absence makes the heart fonder- I think that's after the initial "I'm gonna KILL you" phase. Now I want to smother him in kisses!
