Hell to the NO!

Every Mom, with a job that pays or doesn't (cause let's be honest-stay at home mom's pay stinks!) knows the importance of time alone. We've all gone to the grocery store alone wandering the aisles, considering it a break.

Today I'm really tired. Woke up for boot camp @ 5AM and my brain and body had the worst fight every. Brain said get up, body said Hell to the No. But I got up and kicked some serious ass.

Came home and crashed after Xan went to school but was soon being tortured by Xavier. And I mean tortured. He jumped on my bed, on me, kicked me in the head, almost popped my implant (boob), hitting the animals, sneezed on me and SOAKING me in snot, crying when I told him to stop, crying when he was bit by cat after much abuse, yanked everything out of his toybox, cried when he had to put it back in, being sassy when I asked him if he was ready for school...just torture. So I go to get him dressed and he's grabbing my face and singing in my face, then he starts to jump up and down and he wails me in the chin, which makes me jerk my head back and hurts my neck. As I'm putting his underwear on he jumps again (I'm on my knees in front of him) and catches me in the face again with the top of his head. I put my hand out to block his head and he jumps way up, hits my hand and falls down nailing his head.

Awesome.

I get him off to school, come home and plan on doing nothing for an hour, then showering running errands and going to my hair appointment @ 11:45. At about 10:23 hair chick calls and asks if I can come in 30 minutes early. No problem, I'll do my errands before I get Xavier with my extra 30 minutes.

I get there @ 11:15 and wait for her assistant or her to come out. There are lots of other stylists/assisstants coming out to check on clients. Clients that aren't even there yet. But here I am. I text her "I'm here". Nothing. After 15 minutes I text "I've been waiting for 15 minutes". Nothing. My blood is boiling. I ask the receptionist if she let hair chick know I was here. "Yep".

There is one day a week I have an afternoon to myself. Wednesday. Xavier has school until 2. Today was a rare day- I didn't have any morning clients either. A day to catch up and get hair done. Moms aren't afforded this luxury very often. We PAY for a little time to ourselves.

After 20 minutes, I'm furious. Why the HELL did she call me in early to have me wait? Now I'm sitting here wasting time because she won't be through until 2 and I'm not going to have time to do my errands.

I walk up to the receptionist and say, as politely as I could "Please tell hair chick I have to go. I didn't come in 30 minutes early to wait 20 fucking minutes."

Receptionist looks a little shocked "Do you want me to get her?" Me "No, I want you to tell her what I just said. But you can leaving the 'fucking' part out if you want."

And I leave. I start my errands and a flurry of text messages come. She said "My assisstant was mixing your color when you left" I said "Well she should have come out and said HELLO and we're behind when I got there 30 minutes early like you asked me to. Then it was "You can come back and I'll do it." Me "I'm at the grocery store, I can't waste any more time".

What burns my ass is we trade out. I don't charge her a penny for training and she doesn't charge me a thing for hair. It's worked out pretty well until the last year. She's always late. Always. Everyone gets 5 or even 10. But 20-30? HELL TO THE NO! You're not a freaking docotor! I'm never late for her when we train. Ugh! So I have ugly hair and I'm sure I'll get more stress acne out of this day. And it's only 1:30 PM here. AHHHHHH!

My hair chick always double books and I know I will be there for double the time. Sometimes my hair doesn't even turn out perfect either! I try new people and then always end up back with her and the bullshit because she's cheaper and usually consistent. Others want way more and do a shitty job too.

So I hear ya'! And my son has been driving me nuts today too.

Don't you hate it! She's awesome and I love the way she does my hair but da-yum! I hate waiting around. I can't tell you how many times I've left with a head full of conditioner!!!
I wonder if the upcoming full moon is making our boys wild and crazy!
