
I had an hour break between clients and made use of it through attempting to run 5 miles total with a 3 mile tempo run in there.
THere were many things against me today, mainly the treadmill. Normally I'd run outside (along the busy main road until I could duck into a peaceful neighborhood) but today the temp was barely 30 with 15-25 MPH winds (wind chill 19) so I opted for the treadmill.
1.The treadmills at work are total JUNK.
2.The TV's were on an XM channel for the person lifting weights so I didn't want to change it.
3. I tried to read but the freaking treadmill bounces around so bad the magazines kept falling off.
4. I had my iPod on, but the treadmill was screeching so loud I couldn't focus.
5.I felt every joint in my body scream in agony- it was worse than running on asphalt.
I decided to ditch the original plan (3 miles @ 10:20 pace) and ended up doing 2.5miles on the treadmill and another 1 mile on the elliptical for a total time of 43 minutes. Only 3.5, but as I've done a little more reading regarding my training I should just focus on creating a base and increasing the long run up to 7 miles. I'll lay the base for 4 weeks, running T,TH,Sat or Sun then get a 10K time for a gage.
My youngest has been off the chain lately and totally wearing me out. I haven't had a lot of time to do any crafting. I can't wait for the weekend! I'm going to sit on my rear and make something pretty! :)
