Domestic GOODness

I couldn't muster up the motivation to scrape any more wallpaper today.
Look at my task:

Right on the sheetrock

I wanted to fold laundry, but my favorite kitty Bean wouldn't budge.

Then she snuggles deeper into my sweatshirt!

Here's an almost finished luna lovegood scarf. This things takes me over 6 hours, but it's so damned beautiful it's my go-to gift for people I really love. (chain 383 with an E or F hook, ugh!) I ran out of the yarn with 1 and a half rows left. I'll finish it tonight!

My friend Kimi came for a visit. She said it's never a visit to my house unless she's eating chocolate chip cookies and drinking a Fresca. I couldn't let her down!
The cookies taste SO much better with butter flavored Crisco. There's no comparison!

I also made vegan vegetable soup. It's low fat too!

YUM

Sautee 1.5 large onions in about 2 tbsp olive oil, when soft add a little more oil, about 1 more tbsp oil

Add 4 stalks chopped celery

Add about 1/2 can tomato paste and enough vegetable broth to soften celery and break down the paste

Add 2/3 head of chopped green cabbage and about 1 cup chopped carrots and one bag partially dethawed broccoli florets (I cut them into smaller pieces)

Add the rest of broth. Fill up the carton with water and add enough to it to cover cabbage.

Add Mrs.Dash zesty blend, garlic powder (or add real garlic with onions) a pinch cayenne (kick!). Simmer until all is tender over low heat. About an hour?

I was going to add rice, but it's really filling on its own thanks to the cabbage. Makes a large pot!
