Togetherness

Friday I had 5 boys 8 and under at my house for about 5 hours. Long, long day! We made cookies:

I had my fill! Being the nice wife that I am (or moron after the day I had on Friday), I took the boys out all day yesterday so my husband could 'finish' the dining room. Right now it's 4:30 PM on Sunday and we're waiting for coat #2 to dry on the wall. Yeah. Not happy.

I took them to Hodge Army Navy store and they had the best time running around with inflatable guns and hard plastic camo helmets. We came home for lunch, Jon took them out for an hour so I could nap (I had a 7 AM client!) and then I took them both out again to see Beveryly Hill Chihuahua. It was really cute.

By the end of the day I absolutely had enough. I sure wish I could have an afternoon of peace and quiet to finish something.

That picture pretty much sums up his attitude towards me the whole day. After the movie I let them each play one game. The game is up and Xan yells

"This is SO NOT FAIR! WHY only ONE GAME! Not FAIR!!!!"

This is after buying them crap at the Army Navy store, buying them candy, bringing them to the movies, etc

So after he picked my foot out of his ass, I asked him the last time anyone else in his life had taken him out for a fun time like this. When was the last time anyone but Mommy did nothing for herself and everything for them for 2 days in a row? He got the point and hung him head. Little shit. Motherhood is a thankless job most days.

Today I slept until 8. What a treat. He made me burnt cinnamon rolls and my coffee was bitter, but he really tried and it was SWEET!

Xavier's birthday is Wed, and since this week is jam packed I took him out for his special Mommy and Xavier only birthday lunch. He chose Johnny ROckets. Of course. Once again he was looking for a rocket.

Here's Xavier eating his birthday sundae. Poor thing turned red and didn't take a breath the whole time they sang to him. He's shy! Must be from his dad cause I LOVE when they sing for me!

6 days to go before the party. Guest list stands at 75. I'll be finishing some decorations until Wed and then I start to cook. Yay! I love to cook!
