So it was with great caution I approached today's 9am "2009 jump start" boot camp. My chest is still sorta congested, my throat not as sore, my head not as swimmy and my fever gone. The first half mile felt like 5, but once it was done we settled into a nice pace. The rest of the group (we had 5 in all) were in the same boat- either sick, injured or too busy to exercise last week and this was the first time back!
So here it is:
1/2 mile run
Hip openers. 50 squats, light agilities.
Jog around building (maybe 200 meters?) 20 incline push-ups
25/leg one legged squats with leg on bench
30 bench dips
20 heel taps off bench
run around building and repeat circuit.
Lunge hill- about 150 yards, sprint up 'little' hill in front of building.
Side aquat right leg leads up building, sprint hill, repeat with left leg lead.
At this point we lost the 19 year old home from college who was talked into it by her Mom who is a loyal member. She thought she could pound down the beer at night and run in the morning. Silly girl!
We finished with ab work and stretching.
I was severely underdressed, I should have worn a ski hat instead of a baseball hat. The shower I took once I got home wasn't warm enough even with the hot water turned all the way up. I still feel really tired, my legs feel terrible. Tomorrow is going to be a very sore day.
Now I'm home with 2 honory little boys who are really tired of one another until I go back to work at 5. My old man is at work, he was pacing like a caged animal for 2 days and I assumed he had enough 'family' time to last all of 2009. There's something about a child going from deathly ill to bouncing off the walls healthy that I can't get my brain around. Kids don't do anything gradually. At night it's "I'm sick, I want to be held" and wake up to "Woo hoo let's RUN and JUMP on the BED!"
