Tomorrow's CrossFit workout (according to CrossFit.com is Push Jerk, 7 sets of ONE rep. So- max effort X 7. I just spent 30 minutes looking at the variations on a push jerk. Some say jump, some say stagger feet. I thought a staggered stance is a push jerk split....oy vey. Anywho, that's my weight training workout for tomorrow, after I do bootcamp in the morning. Boot camp is going to be a real bitch, I'm adding in some principals from crossfit endurance. Tomorrow calls for 8X200m @ 90% effort, rest one minute. I'm not sure how the ladies will let that ride- That's a LOT of running and we've been stuck inside for a week because of the weather. I may need to split it up, half in the beginning, half at the end. :) Trickery!
My workouts have been stale at best. I'm still working out at work and I hate it. I miss being in a bigger gym and hiding in dark corners away from people thinking "Hey, is that Janis the trainer?" I'm committing myself to crossfit for 30 days, sorta like lent but shorter! I'm going to try and add in the crossfit endurance during bootcamp whenever I can and on the days between boot camp I'll add in longer walks/runs.
I feel like I have the diet in check, the booze is gone (except for Saturdays!) and the only thing missing is an exercise routine I enjoy. Crossfit's principals are right up my alley- more effective exercises, less time in the gym, maximum results. There's a place that has a free CrossFit workout on Saturdays I may commit to. I really should, I think I deserve it!
Here's to joining the dark side.....
